A new study's found that despite what its name suggests - not everyone likes to have their faces be the focus on Facebook.

By analysing 500 Facebook profiles from the US, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore - researchers have discovered that East Asian users smile less and prefer their backgrounds to be the centre of attention in their profile photos, as opposed to Americans, who emphasise their faces, and have a greater "smile intensity".

Presenter: Liam Cochrane

Speaker: Dr Denise Park, the paper's co-author and a psychology professor at the School of Behavioural and Brain sciences at the University of Texas at Dallas
