Fresh bribery allegations in Indonesia's 'political sideshow'

Updated 25 February 2013, 16:19 AEDT

The chairman of Indonesia's ruling party, Anas Urbaningrum, has been officially named a suspect in a corruption case.

He's been accused of receiving a car as a gift in relation to a bidding for contracts in a $120 million project - the Hambalang complex - an allegation he strongly denies.

He's the second senior Democrat named a suspect in the Hambalang case after the Sports Minister Andi Mallarangeng, a close protege of SBY, who was charged in December.
