Indonesian film on 2004 tsunami to air worldwide

A film is being made in Indonesia which seeks to get across some important messages about what to do in tsunamis and coping with the devastation that can be caused by natural disasters.

Titled "Pesan dari Samudra" - "A Message from the Ocean" - it will be shown in Indonesia on 26th December, the anniversary of the 2004 tsunami that killed a quarter of a million people acros Southeast Asia.

Directed by the award-winning Riri Riza, it's sponsored by the National Disaster Mitigation Agency, the Indonesian Red Cross and the Australia-Indonesia Facility for Disaster Reduction.

Jason Brown is employed by AusAID as the Training and Outreach Manager of the Australia-Indonesia Facility for Disaster Reduction.
