As part of her lobbying efforts for a UN Security Council seat, Prime Minister Julia Gillard has consistently talked up Australia's commitment to the UN ideals.

She's highlighted Australia's peacekeeping efforts, development aid and international security work.

The Prime Minister has also been promoting Australia as a successful multicultural and multifaith nation.
