"Reaching the World" literary festival kicks off in Bangkok

Authors, translators and publishing professionals from around Asia-Pacific are gathering in Thailand this week for the country's first international writers' showcase.

The five-day literary festival is titled "Reaching the World" and explores two themes - It looks at the value of literary prizes and the need for quality literary translations to take Asia-pacific writers to the global market.

One of the people attending the event is Thai-Australian poet, Adam Aitken.
