Southeast Asian Press Alliance calls for greater protection of media

The Bangkok-based Southeast Asian Press Alliance is calling for regional governments to protect journalists and commentators and their right to opinion and free reporting.

To mark the recent International Day to End Impunity, the alliance has set out to remind the public that many people, including journalists, bloggers, and lawyers, are being stifled through the use of unjustified legal actions or violence.
