Staple crops in China and India stagnating

New research indicates that the production of staple crops in India and China - the world two most populous countries - is stagnating after years of growth driven by the Green revolution.

The joint study by the University of Minnesota and McGill University in Canada calls for a renewed boost to investment in agriculture if the world is to meet a projected doubling of food demand by 2050.
