An Indonesian court will decide today if the accused people smuggler, Sayed Abbas, can be extradited to Australia.

The Afghan has already spent time in an Indonesian prison for immigration offences and Australian prosecutors want him to stand trial on another 27 people smuggling charges linked to three asylum seeker boats sent to Australia between 2009 and 2011.

Sayed Abbas claims he was working as an informant for the Australian Federal Police.
