Sydney appoints dozens of international student aides

The City of Sydney has named 40 overseas students in its first International Student Leadership and Ambassador Program.

The program is aimed at breaking down a number of challenges foreign students face, including difficulties engaging with local communities, language barriers and social isolation.

More than 100 applicants were judged on their past volunteer work, leadership experiences, involvement in university life and interest in becoming student leaders.
