21 facing charges after looting and rioting in Honiara

Police in Solomon Islands are confident they've got a handle on the situation, and have restored order after looting and rioting at the weekend.

There's an increased police presence on the streets on Honiara again today and 21 men remain in custody, facing charges of unlawful assembly and alcohol-related offences.

Acting Police Commissioner Juanita Matanga says the streets are quiet today.
