A Hapi Isles welcome for hundreds of tourists from the US and Europe

In Solomon Islands, the crowds gathered on Honiara's main wharf to welcome the MS Amsterdam in town yesterday for a 10-hour visit.

It's the largest liner ever to dock at Point Cruz and the tourism sector hopes it's the start of a new aspect to the industry.

Radio Australia's Georgina Kekea says the 13 hundred passengers were quite delighted to receive a welcome from the local pan pipers from Malaita.
