Updated 21 February 2014, 10:00 AEDT

The ANZ Bank has opened a new Asian Business Centre in Fiji, and if it goes well another is planned for Papua New Guinea.

The aim is to grow trade and investment links.

Last year the ANZ became the first bank in the Pacific to offer trading denominated in the Chinese currency, the Yuan.

Pacific CEO Vishnu Mohan says although ANZ has operations in 15 Asian countries, China will be the main focus for the centre in Suva.
