Australia's place in the Asia and the Pacific is usually viewed through the prism of politics, security and economics.

But every three years we're provided with a window into the artistic life of the region.

The Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art is the Queensland Art Gallery's flagship international event and considered the most important art exhibition held regularly in the country.

Now in it's 20th year, the A-P-T is about to open in Brisbane, Cathy Van Extel reports:

Presenter: Cathy Van Extel

Speaker: Suhanya Raffel, the acting director of the Queensland Art Gallery
