Asylum seeker children to be released from detention in Australia

The Australian government's plans to release children from immigration detention into the community are sparking concerns among support agencies.

The Immigration Minister says the measure won't apply to children who've arrived since last July, nor those who are detained on Christmas Island or Nauru.

But support agencies say none of them were given any indication of the government's intentions and they may not have the resources to cope.
