Aust growers raise fresh concern over possible Fiji ginger imports

An Australian ginger grower has expressed surprise at the announcement that Fiji is set to begin exporting ginger to Australia as early as October.

Steaming the ginger roots prior to export was offered as a solution to the problem of possible crop disease entering Australia, but local Australian growers are concerned that's still not enough to meet biosecurity standards.
