Australia announces Fiji election observer team

The Australian government has announced details of the observer group it will send to monitor Fiji's general election next month.

It will be the first poll since the military coup in 2006.

Australia is co-leading a 14 member Multinational Observation Group along with Indonesia, India and Papua New Guinea.

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop has appointed former Defence and Workplace Relations Minister Peter Reith to lead the Australian contingent and he joins us now.
