Updated 2 January 2013, 10:05 AEST

Vanuatu's Electoral Commission has thanked the Australian government for assisting to eliminate corruption during future elections.

This statement comes after the Commission announced it was postponing the provincial elections from January 8 to February 12th 2013.

A National election was held in October, however that was marred with allegations of corruption and vote buying by Candidates.

The Australian Electoral Commission is now helping Vanuatu to use new technology to avoid similar issues in the future.

Presenter: Caroline Tiriman
