Australian hoping to kickstart geothermal energy across the region

Australian hoping to kickstart geothermal energy across the region

The Australian geothermal energy developer, KUTh Energy has begun work on power generation projects in Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea.

Next year KUth will begin drilling to build a power generation plant on Vanuatu's main island, while it has also applied for exploration licences in PNG, looking at providing power to the country's industry, in particular mining.

Stephen Robinson is the business development director with the company and he spoke to Pacific Correspondent Campbell Cooney.

Mr Robinson began by explaining just what geothermal energy is.
