With the tropical cyclone season well underway in the Pacific, public broadcasters are crucial in getting disaster management information out to people in the path of danger.

In the Solomon Islands, PAOA FM is in the process of putting into action its new disaster management plan. Irene Scott is a volunteer Australian youth ambassador for development. She is working in the Solomons on new national disaster guidelines for PAOA FM.
