The Pacific Islands Family Study has taken an in depth look at what Pacific families bring socially and culturally to New Zealand.

Twelve years of research has focussed on everything from alcohol and eating habits to parenting behaviour.

Professor Philip Schluter says the findings have exploded some myths, particularly those linked to alcohol and substance abuse in the Pacific Islander community.
