China seeks co-operation with tuna nations

China seeks co-operation with tuna nations

It's World Tuna Day and there may be some very good news for the countries that make up the Parties to the Nauru Agreement who control the largest tuna fishing area in the world.

At a ministerial meeting in Papua New Guinea China, the fourth largest fish market in the world, is offering closer co-operation with the PNA.

It's offering market access, domestic development and fisheries science.
