Costs of Australia's Pacific asylum system revealed

The Australian Government has given some more details about the millions of dollars its spending to send asylum seekers to Nauru and Papua New Guinea.

Departmental officials have told a Senate estimates hearing in Canberra, that just over 90 million dollars has been spent operating the two temporary centres in the Pacific.

They've also not ruled out using aid funding to improve infrastructure and services on Manus Island.
