Updated 12 December 2012, 10:56 AEST

Police are investigating whether criminal charges can be laid following the Christchurch Royal Commission report into the collapse of the Canterbury Television building.

The collapse of the six storey building claimed 115 of the 185 lives lost in last year's earthquake.

The Commission found there were major deficiencies in the design and engineering of the building.
