Dispute over Fiji's economic growth rate

The Reserve Bank of Fiji says new economic growth forecast of 3.2% is achievable up from 2.7 percent announced in the 2013 Budget.

Is that a credible forecast.? Fiji Labour party doesn't think so slamming figures offered by the IMF consultant mission to the country.

This week the School of Economics at the University of the South Pacific conducted a major discussion on exactly where Fiji's economy stands.

Professor Biman Prasad from USP believes that the third quarter of the year will provide a more realistic view for the economy's growth rate.
