Dunalley cut off by bushfires

Updated 7 January 2013, 12:25 AEST

The Tasmanian town of Dunalley has been worst hit by the fire.

It's been cut off from both the city of Hobart and the Tasman Penisula since the blaze ripped through on Friday.

The Arthur Highway is still closed in both directions from Dunalley and it's unclear when police will reopen the road.

Boats may have been sent into the Penisula to rescue people under threat from the fire but no fleet has been sent to Dunalley where the blaze has passed.
