EU to review Fiji aid

Updated 18 March 2013, 13:32 AEST

The European Union is set to review the amount of aid it provides to Fiji.

The EU suspended its financial assistance in 2009 after the interim government suspended the country's constitution, postponed democratic elections and introduced emergency rule. Now, the EU's delegation to the Pacific says it wants to reinstate the aid program, depending on the steps being taken by the interim government to return the country to democracy.

Presenter: Richard Ewart

Speaker: Andrew Jacobs, Head of the European Union's delegation to the Pacific
