It's the only free Opthalmic surgery program run in the South Pacific and it operates every November on Taveuni Island in Fiji.

Eight years after it first began, it now has a staff of 25 volunteers, including surgeons and volunteers from Australia, New Zealand and America.

Operations for this year begun last week with volunteers bringing patients in from all over Fiji.

Presenter: Indira Moala
