Fiji introducing e-tickets for buses

Updated 23 January 2013, 9:04 AEDT

Electronic ticketing cards or e-cards are being introduced to bus commuters in Fiji.

To make the switch from cash to card easier, the Consumer Council of Fiji is asking for the 15% VAT that is paid by all bus commuters to be subsidised.

The price of the new e-cards will be $2 until the end of March and then rise to $10.

Presenter: Geraldine Coutts

Speaker: Premila Kumar, Chief Executive, Consumer Council of Fiji
