Fiji Japanese volunteer program celebrates 30th anniversary

2013 marks 30 years of work by the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers programme in Fiji.

The J.O.C.V was inaugurated in 1982 when a group of volunteers began work for the Ministry of Primary industries.

Over the 30 years 600 volunteers have worked in Fiji as part of the program and currently there are 34 volunteers working in areas such as education, health, and agriculture.

The whole programme is supervised by the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
