Updated 17 April 2013, 11:17 AEST

An international human rights group says the Fiji government's moves to consolidate power threaten to significantly undermine the constitutional process, and pose a threat to the democratic future for the country.

Minority Rights Group International, or MRG, has launched a report - together with Fiji's Citizens Constitutional Forum - which has found widespread concern within Fiji that the interim government is unwilling to relinquish power.

Presenter: Geraldine Coutts

Speaker: Chris Chapman, MRG's Head of Conflict Prevention.
