The head of Fiji's Media Industry Development Authority, Ashwin Raj, has complained about police actions after he was arrested and charged with annoyance.

He spent a night in police cells and was released on bail following an incident at his home in Samabula, and is to appear in court charged with indecently insulting or annoying another person.

Fiji police commissioner Ben Groenwald says Mr Raj's court case and his complaint against the police will be dealt with separately, and strictly according to normal procedure.
