In the town of Rockhampton, the river is still rising and isn't expected to peak till Saturday.

Sheree Rarasea and her Fijian husband live 30 minutes north of Rockhampton, where they run a charity called Pacific Smiles. They normally collect Christmas gifts for kids in Pacific countries, but they've begun collecting relief goods for Pacific islanders in Australia who've been affected by the floods.

Presenter: Geraldine Coutts

Speaker: Sheree Rarasea, organiser, Pacific Smiles charity
