Updated 8 February 2013, 11:15 AEST

The impact of climate change on food production in the Pacific, means what the region looks like in the year 2050 may be drastically different to how it looks now.

According to the findings of a paper that is presented this week at the Annual Conference of the Australian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society (AARES) in Sydney, the impact will be great. A drop in crop production, an significant increase in hunger across the population and malnutrition in children under the age of five, are just some of the things talked about in this study.
