Fuel prices and climate change may create Pacific food supply issues

This week's news that shipping issues left a boarding school in the Federated States of Micronesia without food has pushed food security back into the spotlight.

The story served as a healthy reminder of how distance and isolation leaves the systems of many Pacific islands open to shock or collapse.
