The world must not miss the chance it has to bring an end to endemic diseases like HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria.

That's the message from the executive director of the Global Fund to fight the three diseases, Dr Mark Dybul, who took up the position last month.

Dr Dybul is currently visiting countries around the Asia Pacific region who both contribute to the fund's budget and also get its help.

In the Pacific, Papua New Guinea is recognised as having pandemic rates of HIV/AIDS, while sharing the region wide concerns over TB and Malaria.
