2016 Rio Olympics are in sight for a 16 year old Marshall Islands teenager Mathlynn "Mattie" Sasser.

The female weightlifter is now number one in her weight class in the 20-and-under junior division of Oceania after winning gold at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival.

She beat lifters from Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and Fiji to win the gold in a combined class of 58kg and 63kgs

Terry Sasser, Secretary General of the Marshall Islands National Olympic Committee and Mattie's father, says her medal win came from hard work.
