"Green goods" encourage consumption - academic

Some of the world's biggest corporations are now openly promoting themselves as the cleanest or greenest.

The changes they make are often applauded by governments and even environmental advocates.

But a leading Canadian environmental scientist believes the changes made by multinationals can cause more harm than good, by encouraging increased consumption.
