Guam rejects bid for commercial bingo

Voters in Guam voted against a new commercial bingo venue on the island. It's a project which has been mired in controversy.

Gambling on Guam has so far been limited to charities and other non-profit groups.

Critics say the new project would have essentially legalised gambling and harmed the social fabric of the island, but its backers say that gambling could provide jobs and attract tourists.
