Guam to vote on bingo profit ventures

As well as taking part in the US election process next week, people on Guam will be casting their ballots on another hot topic next Tuesday.

They will be voting on a proposal to allow a new for-profit bingo venue on the island. Currently gambling ventures on Guam are limited to non-profit operations, and backers of the new proposal say it will provide jobs and attract tourists. But its critics say it will effectively legalise gambling.
