In Marshall Islands the centre of government has been closed for a day after a fire broke out in the power control room of the hazardous Capitol building.

Editor of the Marshall Islands Journal Giff Johnson says the government has long been urged to upgrade the outdated and dangerous Capitol and parliament buildings.
