Authorities in Palau are waiting on reports from assessment teams before possibly declaring a disaster in islands hit by Typhoon Bopha.

No casualties have been reported but the southern islands have been affected.

Bopha missed the main centre of Koror but passed close to the islands Angaur and Peleliu and eastern coast of main island, Babeldaob with destructiove winds.
