Intense 100 training schedule for Tahiti's football team

Updated 15 March 2013, 9:53 AEST

The Tahitian Football Association has put a 100 day training plan into action with the aim of having the national team perform at its peak at the Confederations Cup in Brazil in June.

Tahiti will enter the tournament as champions of Oceania, but also as complete underdogs, as the players prepare to line up against the World and European Champions, Spain, the South American champions, Uruguay and the African Champions, Nigeria.

Coach Eddy Etaeta knows he faces an enormous task, but he says the intention is to give his team the chance to shine against the best players in the world.
