Kayak circumnavigation of Samoa to raise funds for youth suicide service

Updated 4 March 2013, 11:26 AEST

An Australian police officer working in the Pacific, Andy Warton, is to attempt the first circumnavigation of Samoa by kayak as part of an awareness campaign to raise money for youth suicide prevention.

Despite the seafaring history of the Samoan people, there is no record of any vessel having completed the round trip of more than 400 kilometres at any point in history.
