Land law summit in Vanuatu attracts a huge level of interest

In Vanuatu, a two-day Summit to discuss land reform has wrapped up in the capital Port Vila.

One of the major changes from the current law is that the power to approve land leases is to be transferred from the Minister for Lands and handed over to the Land Management and Planning Committee.

It's been heavily promoted by the current Lands Minister, Ralph Regenvanu.

The editor of the Vanuatu Independent newspaper, Tony Wilson says there's a huge level of interest in the summit.
