Updated 10 August 2012, 10:46 AEST

The nuclear association in French Polynesia, Mororua e Tatou, has raised new concerns that Mororua Atoll, the site of French nuclear testing in the Pacific is in danger of collapsing.

Fears grew after the leaking of a report dated March 2010 to the French government which raised the possibility of the collapse of the atoll.

The president of the nuclear association, Roland Oldham, says he is unhappy the report's findings weren't released earlier.
