Legal challenge to Australian asylum seeker centre in PNG

Papua New Guinea's opposition leader has carried through with a promise to challenge the legality of the Australian Government's asylum seeker processing centre on Manus Island.

Lawyers acting for Belden Namah have asked the country's National Court to declare the centre unconstitutional and shut it down. Refugee advocates in Australia have welcomed the move.
