Vast areas in two of Australia's eastern states are underwater and thousands of people have been forced to flee their homes.

In northern New South Wales, ten disaster zones have been declared amid record floods and in the State of Queensland, hundreds of people spent last night in emergency shelters.

Today the focus is on Logan, south of Brisbane - where the Logan River's expected to peak at nine metres..
