Lukin prefers the quiet life 30 years on from Olympic Gold

It's a significant anniversary for Australian weightlifting.

30 years ago last Friday, South Australian tuna fisherman Dean Lukin won gold in the Superheavyweight division at the Los Angeles Olympics.

It was and remains the sport's only Olympic gold medal... and sparked national celebrations, particularly in Lukin's home town of Port Lincoln.

But today the sporting figure who made Olympic history prefers a much quieter life.
