Major staff shortage in Marshall Island Auditor General's office

A major staff shortage has failed to prevent the Auditor General's office in Marshall Islands uncovering more cases of fraud and abuse within government.

The Auditor General, Junior Patrick says 11 of 21 positions in his office remain vacant for lack of funding.

A recently established hot line has brought to light complaints of embezzlement, violations of bids and grant agreements, and abuse of power by public officials.
