Manus Island Governor says his people are not violent

The Governor and local MP for Manus are both angry about the perception by some that their constituents are being blamed for the riot at the detention centre at the weekend.

Governor Charlie Benjamin says the people of Manus are peace loving and are doing their best to help their "friends" in the detention centre. Immigration Minister Scott Morrison has launched two inquires into the riot.
